Despite the constant rain of 2026, our school residential groups have been making the most of exploring the stream in our woodland!

Orange Crocuses

These bright orange crocuses really do pop against the green of the grass. All the rain over the last few weeks mixed with the milder temperatures have meant our plants are starting to grow in the light of Spring arriving soon

Our Leghorn Chickens

Back in October our leghorn chickens were making the most of the last dropped apples and scratching in the dirt. They are also extremely inquisitive, and decided to play a follow the leader game with our ranger May when she went to collect the egg

Forest School Christmas art

Sometimes the simple things are the most effective! Using a wood slice, nails and some yarn you can create natural 3D pictures. This Christmas inspired artwork was created by one of this term’s Forest School students!

Stargazing at night

With the nights becoming darker earlier, our groups coming to Magdalen are able to experience stargazing across the farm. Check out our loofahs

These very large cucumber and courgette lookalikes are actually, loofah plants. These can be either picked whilst small for cooking or when left to mature they can be used to make exfoliating sponges! These plants grow as vines, and have created a lovely archway within our polytunnel.

Egg collecting

Collecting the eggs from our organically farmed chickens is an activity highlight. Our visitors get hands on with the farm to fork process by collecting and sorting the eggs, which are then enjoyed scrambled for breakfast the next day.

Apple Harvesting

The first of the apple harvest has taken place at Magdalen Farm, with over 30 crates picked! Our harvested apples get taken to North Perrott Fruit Farm where they will be pressed into delicious apple juice which gets enjoyed by the many visitors to the farm.
