Blackthorn make up an important part of the hedgerows around Magdalen Farm. The start of Spring sees clouds of white blossom appear on the trees, providing vital nectar and pollen for the first emerging pollinators of the year.

After pollination, these flowers will develop later on in the year into sloes!
